I enjoy having a still life set up to work from as the painting can develop over several days and unlike outdoor landscapes it isn’t subject to changes in light or weather conditions. I have favourite pieces of pottery and china which I may use in several different pictures, I often include a simple piece of table linen and I am particularly fond of Pears which are a recurrent feature in my work
